TVx3 E063: The One With the Special Guest

This week Amrie and Jason had a special guest join them, Curt Wagner (@ShowPatrol) of the Show Patrol blog at Redeye Chicago, as Rae was unable to podcast this past weekend.

We kicked the episode off discussing a few recent TV related news items that included NBC possibly doing a non-celebrity version The Apprentice once again next fall, James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) set to play the bad guy in the Hawaii Five-O “Pilot” being shot for CBS, FOX picking up Kitchen Nightmares for a third season, the reports about FOX and Conan O'Brien getting closer to closing a deal for a new late night talk show, and Larry David talking about the possibility of doing an eighth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm for HBO.

Next, Amrie talked a little bit about her recent trip the Syfy Upfront presentations, where they talked about all their new and returning shows for the coming year.

Then, we talked a little Primetime that included Caprica S.1 Ep.7, Stargate Universe, S.1 Ep.11 & 12, Chuck S.3 Ep.10, Greek S.3 Ep.18, Lost S.6 Ep.8, Justified S.1 Ep.1, and FlashForward S.1 Ep.11 & 12.

Lastly, Jason gave a very brief updated his progress on watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel through for the first time.

So, what did you think of this episode? Our guest? Let us know in the comments, send us an email, or connect via Twitter.

  1. Great guesting by @ShowPatrol. I must admit I skipped over the SGU 1.5 discussion to avoid any potential spoilers. Loved the Mongolian Deathworm discussion–it would be great if Tiffany played herself., or at least made fun of herself. (See my tweeted potential scene. :))
Looking forward to the return of Breaking Bad–haven’t had a chance to watch the premiere yet.

  2. Show Patrol, I thought you might like him.

Kyle, Always better to be safe than sorry, but I think we did a pretty good job of being vague, yet interesting when talking about SGU without giving anything away.
