  1. I really need to catch up on The Killing. It’s on the DVR. I am so behind! You guys made it sound so great so it’s been bumped to the tip of the list.
Am I the only one who was not surprised by the big Kalinda reveal? Not that I don’t LOVE The Good Wife but it wasn’t a shocker for me. I am very curious as to why she had to change her name though. Hmmmmm.
    Eli Gold is well, gold.
I LOVED Christian Slater and Breaking In. And you know I am not all about the half hour comedies. It would be easy for me to just admit it was because of Slater but I love Matthew Perry but Mr Sunshine? Not so much.
Totally loved the reality recap and coupon talk.

  2. The Killing was amazing. At the end of the first hour I had chills, and what can only be described as some sort of allergic reaction since I never get emotional over TV, but my eyes were somewhat watery. πŸ˜‰ The rainy, dark atmosphere is perfect and definitely adds to the show.
I will really miss No Ordinary Family. I have enjoyed it right from the start. I highly doubt it will be back, and perhaps that may be good–it could end up turning into the mess that was the later years of Heroes.
Breaking In was great–a fun cast and premise. Brett Harrison is playing the same role for at least the 3rd time, but I still enjoy him in that role.
Justified continues to be great this season and Margo Martindale (who I always think of as That Neighbor from The Riches) has been amazing!
As for the reality shows–on Amazing Race, still happy to see The Cowboys doing well. On Survivor, I really want to see Boston Rob go–I may be in the minority but I can’t stand that guy, And now for Extreme Couponing…this show was really entertaining. To help answer Amrie’s issues about the coupons and the price of mustard. It is possible to make up the cost of the mustard with other coupons. For example, if you had something else that was only $1.25 but had a $.75 doubled coupon, then you would be making back $.25 on that item, and if they bought a ton of those as well, it would off-set the price of the mustard. My mom is a reformed extreme couponer–as kids we used to go to the grocery store with a file cabinet of coupons. My mother was nicknamed “The Coupon Queen” by her friends, who she taught how to use coupons. There was one time we sat at a CVS buying up all of their malted milk balls, We’d buy one, cut the coupon off the back of the box and then use that to get another one free and so on until they eventually ran out. My parents’ basement also had shelves stocked like (but to a lesser degree) the stockpiles on the show. While she no longer has a file cabinet, my mother still clips and uses a lot of coupon. I guess I have my own “clipping service” in that she gives me envelopes of coupons for stuff I might use. There have been a few trips where I’ve saved close to 90% on my groceries, but my starting total was probably less than $20, and I didn’t spend 6 hours planning. πŸ™‚ I still have a couple unwatched episodes on my DVR, and I’ll keep my season pass (until it feels too much like Hoarders).

  3. With all that coupon talk realized I forgot to mention The Office and Bob’s Burgers. Catherine Tate would be my pick for the new regular on The Office. She was my favorite Dr. Who Companion, and her show was really funny She even played office-type characters in The Catherine Tate show, so I think she’s be a perfect fit.
As for Bob’s Burgers, I had the same exact experience as Amrie. I absolutely hated the pilot episode. I almost didn’t even finish the episode, but the series has grown on me and now I find it hilarious. The two youngest kids are great–the stuff the son yells out is so inappropriate but so funny. The one thing that still bugs me is the oldest daughter’s man voice–wish they had got a woman to play her or at least tried to give her more of a female voice.
