Great to hear Curt again on the podcast–and seeing all 3 of you at SDCC.
I more than made up for you guys’ lack of Comic-Con panels–I think I went to at least 3 dozen panels (all day, every day Thurs-Sun)! And Jason, I was one of those people who got up at 3:30am to walk over and get in line for the Chuck panel! 🙂
Favorite panel might have been Burn Notice (Bruce Campbell is hilarious), but was most excited for the Doctor Who panel. Least favorite was probably the TV Guide panel–they showed too many clips and not enough questions–and they had a horrible moderator (some woman from TV Guide who looks like she has spent way too much time in the sun–she also moderated one of the other panels I attended, might have been TVD).
My brush with fame was having a 1 or 2 sentence conversation with an inebriated “Giles” at the NBC party.
This year’s SDCC was so much more tiring than last year. Last year I got more sleep because I was in Mission Valley and the first shuttle was at like 6:30 so I slept later. This year, I was in walking distance, which was great, but also allowed me to get up at insanely early times to walk to the convention center and get in line. The free collapsible stool they gave out at The Ringer panel was extremely useful for the rest of the week. Although by Sunday I was a little afraid to sit on it as the lack of quality was starting to show.
Enjoying all the shows from your Primetime segment.
As for Amrie’s reality check, I agree with most points. The emotionless robot Cathy needs to go from Design Star, Vic needs to lose Next Food Network Star (want Jeff to win), and Sonyae was the worst singer on Platinum Hit and should have been gone week 1, but they seemed to love her and carried her through each week, so it was obvious they were going to give her the win. Jess had the best final song IMO.
